2008 Barefoot Bulletin and 90th Commemorative Book: April 2011

90th Commemorative Book Posted

The 90th Commemorative Booklet for the Barefoot Reunions is now all posted. It took a while to scan, upload, and label each page. You are able to copy and paste it into a word processing software program for private printing. What the committee who compiled the book desired to do is to save the minutes, the notices, and the photos that still exist. It was not meant to be a story; rather it is a compilation of things past.

Sylvia Coleman began the layout, Vicki Erdley typed the old minutes except for the later ones typed by Bobbie Ann Woodley, Sec., and Sylvia Sonneborn did the layout. Betsy Hawthorne was the historian who looked up lineage and kept track of obituaries. Other researchers contributed information, including Sharon Sheldon, Becky Barefoot, Bill Kreiger, Gary Mickle, and Dale McLaughlin as well as records kept by Ella Hammer Krise, my mother Elizabeth Mae Krise Hott, and my sister Eleanor Lee Hott Kinnan. Older members of the clan, unknown to me, are also responsible for researching and saving information about the Barefoot Family.

We are asking that you do not copy this book and present it in a tome for sale. This information should remain free to be shared by all those descended from or interested in the Ross and Barefoot Families.

Enjoy a journey through memory's lane with your bare feet propped up on a hassock. Learn to know your ancestors so that you will recognize them in that great reunion that we will all have some day. So now, we give you the hard-working, serious, intellectual, productive, and sometimes funny Barefoot men and women of the past whose blood continues to flow through our veins to keep their legacy alive today.
